Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State officially commissioned the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line Overpass Bridge at Yaba, bound to improve traffic flow within the Yaba-Ojuelegba axis into other parts of the state.
The bridge takes traffic from Murtala Muhammed way to Ojuelegba Road and Vice-versa over the rail tracks.
This is one of the four new bridges built by the Sanwo-Olu administration on the Red Line rail alignment to eliminate vehicular, pedestrian, and train traffic interaction.
Amongst the completed bridges include Oyingbo, Yaba, and Ikeja, with that of Mushin still in the works to be completed by the end of the year.
The aim of the bridge is to facilitate smooth movement, eliminate incessant accidents and also facilitate unhindered movement for the Red Line trains whose movements frequency plan to be very high.
