Serial Robber Remanded in Kirikiri, See Why

A serial armed robber, Kamilu Mohammed has been remanded in the Kirikiri Custodial Centre for allegedly possessing guns and other weapons on Friday by an Ogba Magistrate court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

The alleged criminal was said to have used the weapons to rob unsuspecting members of the public of their belongings in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The police prosecutor, Kehinde Ajayi, told the court that the defendant had in his possession seven locally-made pistols and 63 live cartridges, and when accosted by the police, he was unable to give a satisfactory response.

His accomplices were said to be currently at large.

The charge preferred against him read in part,

“That you, Kamilu Mohammed, and others now at large between 2020 and 2023 around 10.25 am at Mile 2, Area of Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit armed robbery and thereby committed an offense punishable under Section 299 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”

The Magistrate, E. Kubenje, adjourned the case till June 20, 2023.
