Residents of Festac town has lamented on the leaking sewage on the 2nd avenue axis of the estate in Amuwo-Odofin LGA.
It was noticed that the sewage located on the 3rd avenue / 2nd avenue junction has been spilling its content to the road which serves as a major commuting route for resident and commuters.
Residents of the estate especially those who reside in the most affected area, 204 Road reached out to Festaconline Media to complain bitterly on the degrading situation.
According to Mrs Ngozika, The leakage has been spilling on to the road since the beginning of the year and no one has done anything about it. I’m not happy about it , infact coming home everyday and seeing that the entrance to my close is filled with sewage is a huge concern.
Mr Anene, a business owner who has a shop in that area also complained bitterly, In his words.
This spillage is affecting my source of livelihood, My customers have stopped coming since this started, it started as nothing ooo but now its has turned to a river, im appealing to the government to come to our aid.
Mr Fatai, a Festac resident shared with us that this spill started before christmas, it started coming out little by little and no one paid attention to it. Its a very sad situation.
We are calling on necessary authorities to help the residents fix the spiillage. Some say its because the drainage has been blocked on the buffer zone of the 2nd avenue by those using there as business and those now building on the buffer zone axis.
Have you noticed this ?
