The Happiness On The Children’s Faces Reminds Me Of My Childhood – Alli-Macaulay Macaulay

The Happiness on the Children faces reminds me of my Childhood Memories says Hon Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay at the Christmas Party for Constituents

The honourable member representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly has recently stated her childhood memories as the reason behind the Mama Amuwo and Kids Christmas Party. A party she organises for the children in her constituency.

This was made known at the just concluded second edition of the Mama Amuwo Christmas Party which held on December 19 2021 at 205 park, Festac Town, Lagos.

The event which started on a high note with children and parents trooping in their numbers had over 2000 residents in participation with the presence of the Vice Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Representatives of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Association of Professional Counsellors of Nigeria and the members of the legislative Council.

When asked what informed the decision to come up with such initiative, the honourable member recounted her childhood memories while growing up especially during the festive period.

Hence, those beautiful memories are what she wanted to replicate with the children of Amuwo Constituency 1.

According to her she said,

“it has to do with my nostalgic feelings of when I was a child looking forward to Christmas, having fun, the laughter, Santa Claus, collecting gifts, the music and all of that.

That’s what inspired me to make sure that I give back to the children of my constituency the same and that’s what we’re doing here today.

We can see the smiles, the happiness, the fun and laughter and we thank God for that”.

Also, she noted that she has been able to carry out so many programs and projects targeted towards the women, children and youths and stated that she will continue to do anything and everything within her power to ensure that the people get the dividends of democracy as and when due.

She however also admonished the people to stay save, observe the Covid-19 protocols and parents should as well look out for their wards especially the girl child who could be more prone to sexual abuse.

In her words she said “I want to advice mothers especially to look out for their girl children, and young ones so that they are not molested, raped or kidnapped.

They should talk to them, bring them close, spend quality time with them and let them enjoy themselves for this season”.

On education, she implored the parents that education is the only legacy to give to a child as it is the best way forward for a secured future.

She noted that it is an educated person that will be needed to run the system, hence, she advised the children not to be lackadaisical about their education as it is the best way to secure a brighter future for themselves.
