On the 6th of April 2022, it was reported that a police team was chasing a young boy, yet unidentified to collect his phone, alleging him a yahoo boy at the first gate axis of the LGA when he was hit.
According to information gathered, the incident which happened in the evening on that Wednesday was due to the young boy trying to escape the police when he was hit by an oncoming trailer hit, and it was said that the police fled the scene.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos state police command’s PRO said
“I am fully aware of this case, the narrative is completely false. Police wasn’t involved whatsoever in this case at least until it happened.
He(the young boy) crossed the road carelessly and got knocked down by a vehicle, the driver of the vehicle has been arrested.”
Both the driver and vehicle were taken to the Festac Division, the driver narrated that the young man crossed the road carelessly, that he wasn’t being chased by anyone.
