In the early hours of Tuesday morning, September 5th 2023 serious chaos erupted in the Mile2 axis of the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos State.
According to the information gathered, a truck driver was killed due to a clash that arose between the Lagos state task force and the truck/tanker drivers on that axis.
This led to protests by people and other truck drivers with several bonfires set along the mile2 express and yielding to no movement or commuting, leaving commuters stranded. The Mile2 bridge was barricaded and access blocked.
Many commuters were seen scampering for safety while others had to reroute their movements.
As of the time of filing this report, the police, and other law enforcement have arrived at the scene and efforts are being made to restore sanity to the axis. Obstacles have been learned and the free flow of traffic is seen to be building up.
CP Owohunwa also is on the ground to assess the situation and restore normalcy to the area.
