Prior to the ban on Okada usage in some parts of Lagos state, uproar has risen in Amuwo Odofin as task force officials were seen today in full gears to tackle the Okada riders in amuwo.
They were seen between the Festac link Bridge and second rainbow, confronting the Okada riders and seizing their bikes around that entire area and definitely, the Okada riders were fighting back.
A witness, name disclosed said “On leaving home at about 10:30am, there was no single available bike around, so I had to walk from Raji Rasaki towards the Festac link bridge. A few minutes while walking, a vast number of bike at high speed were rushing by like they were being chased, in truth, they were being chased by 2 Hilux with officers in riot gear, a van for the seized bikes and two other vans for Okada riders and their passengers that were arrested.”
“One unfortunate rider and his passenger was seen being arrested in front of the filling station after Domino’s. At 1st Avenue, from the start of the bridge towards first gate, were a different set of 4 squads of officers in combat gear, ready to pounce on any Okada rider seen.”
Information gotten to us also said to be around the agboju axis for the same cause and gunshots were heard during the confrontation.
