In the noon hours of Wednesday May 4th 2022, after a very heavy wind accompanied by a short rainfall, An elderly man Escaped what would have been a fatal accident.
Due to the heavy rainfall, a very massive tree located at the 32 Road axis of Festac Town opposite the First bank branch fell on a car.
Luckily the car owner who is resident in the mile2 axis of Amuwo Odofin community was not in the car at the time of the fall.
According to information gathered by Festaconline Media, the car owner stepped out of his vehicle to go to the bank before the rain started, by the time the rain had stopped and he stepped out the bank, he was met with an unfortunate sight as his vehicle was crushed by a massive tree at 22rd beside MRS filling station.
Comrade Gbenga Nathaniel was also at the scene alongside other residents and passersby who rallied around to ensure the tree was removed from the car.
The car was badly damaged as both the rear and front windscreens were totally destroyed.
It would have been a totally different story if he was driving at that moment.
The incident caused serious road obstruction to commuters and as at the time of this writing, the tree is yet to be removed totally.
