We Snatch Bags From Well-Dressed Ladies – Traffic Robbers

A three-man robbery gang that operates along Mile 2 Badagry express-way have said that they target mostly well-dressed ladies.

Their arrest came after one of the gang members on Saturday was pick up in Okokomaiko area of Lagos state.

Those arrested were identified as Afolabi Ibrahim, 23, Sheriff Ogundeji, 25 and Kehinde Ramon.

Lagos State Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, who confirmed the arrest, said operatives of the command, attached to the Raider team of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department ran into one Kehinde Ramon who snatches bags from passers-by at gun point.

He said that the 20-year-old man who pretended to operate as an Okada rider but behind the scene, a notorious highway robber with speciality in attacking commuters and snatching handbags from unsuspecting ladies.

According to Edgal, Kehinde Ramon was arrested during one of his robbery operations around Okokomaiko, adding that during interrogation, he confessed that he robs his victims while in heavy traffic and that he usually operates with members of his gang along Okokomaiko, Pipeline, Igando and Ajangbadi axis.

He said that revelations from him led to the arrest of his partners in crime, namely:
Afolabi Ibrahim and Sheriff Ogundeji, at Odusan Street behind Akesan market Igando.

“Recovered from them were one Italian made pistol; one locally made double barrel pistol; several ammunitions, and their operational motorcycle. Suspects, he said would be charged to court as soon as investigation is over” he added.

Kehinde, in his confessional statement, said that they attack mainly well ldressed ladies either in the morning or during closing hours.

“These ladies carrying fanciful bags go about with expensive phones. They may not have enough cash in their bags but one of the phones could fetch us about N150,000. You know what it means if we are lucky to snatch two” he added.
