The tragic explosion that rocked the Abule-Ado community is still fresh as its already six weeks gone.
23 Lives were lost to the explosion which occurred March 2020. The Lagos state government has given cheques to families of the deceased victims.
The cheques worth 2.5 Million each was presented by the
Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat to the families on Wednesday afternoon.
Recall that the blast which woke residents of the Abule-Ado community in the Amuwo-odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State to a tragic Sunday on March 15, 2020 claimed 23 lives with over 60 buildings damaged and about 586 residents displaced with several injured.
Today we presented cheques to the families of the 23 deceased victims of the Abule-Ado explosion. We hope the money will help provide some relief even as they miss their loved ones. We are also working with safety, power & other stake holders to find a lasting solution to issues-

Acording to Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu , Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the state government had approved the payment of N2.5m to the next of kin of each deceased victim of the explosion.
The LASEMA Public Relations Officer, Nosa Okunbor, also revealed on Wednesday, stated that the approved next of kin had been invited for verification, identification and collection of the money.
“This approval has been conveyed to the victims’ families by the DG/CEO of LASEMA, who highlighted the modalities for collection and how much each victim’s family is entitled to collect. Each named next of kin of a deceased victim will be given N2.5m by the Lagos State Government.”
