Amuwo-Odofin LGA Debuts Community Policing

The Amuwo-Odofin local government, Lagos state has flagged off its community policing.

The flag off held on the 27th June 2020 at the Local government secretariat, Festac Town.

Oba Lateef Olayinka Ado, Alado of Ado Kingdom, ACP Muawiyah Halilu, Area Commander, Area E Command, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh ,the Local Government chairman.

Pioneering the FlagOff  The Area Commander, Area E Command, ACP Muawiyah Halilu with the Support of the Local Government chairman, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh and Oba Lateef Olayinka Ado, Alado of Ado Kingdom.

The flagoff was an August meeting of stakeholders to officially flag of Community Police in the Local Government.

Present were stakeholders consisting of Traditional leaders, Artisans Associations, NURTW etc.

During the flagoff, ACP Muawiyah Halilu the Area Commander laid emphasis on the importance of community policing while enumerating its objectives to include strengthening the social bonds and cohesion’s within communities which can enhance their ability to address community issues.

He also sought the cooperation of all stakeholders for its work-ability in the Local Government.

Engr Valentine Buraimoh in his address welcomed the initiative which he believes is geared towards fostering the security of lives and properties.

In his words,
I want to appeal to all of us to continue to lend our support to The Nigerian Police so that this novel community service scheme can be productive.

The Alado of Ado Kingdom, Oba Lateef Olayinka Ado also expressed his commendation for the initiative.

He enjoined all stakeholders to embrace the community policing scheme for the benefit of our communities.
