Amuwo Ward C Councillor Kicks Off ‘Paint-a-Block’ Project

Two residential blocks have so far benefited from the initiative, with 20 more targeted across Ward C.

A community painting project aimed at improving the appearance of residential buildings in Ward C, Amuwo-Odofin, has commenced, with two blocks already benefiting from the initiative.

The Paint-a-Block Project was initiated by Hon. Gbenga Nathaniel Akinbinu, a member of the Amuwo-Odofin Legislative Council and its Chief Whip.

The initiative is focused on supporting the painting of selected residential blocks within Ward C, with 20 additional blocks expected to benefit as the project progresses.

Festaconline visited two of the blocks included in the initiative and observed the progress of the work.

At the first location, residents were given ₦250,000 by Akinbinu to undertake the painting of the building themselves.

The second block is also currently being painted and was about 90 per cent complete at the time of Festaconline’s visit.

The project is now receiving additional support from the private sector following a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Akinbinu and Princess Paint Nigeria.

Under the agreement, Princess Paint Nigeria will supply paint for the project at a discounted price. The partnership is expected to reduce implementation costs and help extend the initiative to more residential blocks within the ward.

The MOU was signed with Alhaji Azeez Lawal, Managing Director of Princess Paint Nigeria.

Also present at the signing were Hon. Hunton Gbetoyon, Chief Whip of Badagry Local Government, and Mr. Jimmy Majekodume, Accountant of Princess Paint Nigeria.

With two blocks already receiving attention and 20 more targeted, the project is expected to continue across Ward C as the partnership with Princess Paint Nigeria takes effect.

For residents, the progress of the initiative will ultimately be visible in the buildings covered as the remaining blocks are completed.

Festaconline will continue to follow the project and report on its progress across Ward C.
