AmuwoGames2021: Week 2 Recap, Wins, Faces + Photos

Week 2 of the Amuwo Games saw to different games being participated in with hundred of participants at the various venues.

Festaconline Media has curated a recap for those who missed the games on the 13th and 14th November 2021.

VOLLEYBALL

The Volleyball tournament sponsored by CWAY Table Water, started with Group rounds on 13th November 2021 in a round robin style. which led to GRA Rhinos, Festac Elephants, Festac Unicorns and Festac Sharks emerging winners in the first round.

The Semi-Finals of the volleyball tournament held on 14th November 2021 with Festac Unicorns as defeated by the Festac Sharks with 4-2 pointer and GRA Rhinos defeating the Festac Elephants with a 6-3.

The GRA Rhinos emerged as the champion’s of the Volleyball tournament while Festac Sharks and Festac Elephant emerged 2nd and 3rd place respectively

BASKETBALL

The Basketball competition was played in rounds of 8 on 13th and 14th November 2021 at the Suki Court, 24 Road Festac Town GRA Rhinos and Festac Unicorns playing against each other, Festac Elephants and Mile2 Lions.

The GRA Rhinos defeated the Festac unicorns with 68:44 points while Festac Bulls were knocked out of the game by the Festac Sharks with a 34:40 points.

SCRABBLE

Scrabble tournament sponsored by Dreamrite Foundation had Festac elephants represented by D.Ekpo emerge winner with 928pts , GRA Rhinos represented by A.Pigha taking second place with 710pts and Extension dolphins in 3rd place with 588pts represented by P.Omachonu.

While for the under 13, Mile 2 hawks took First place with 56pts, Festac Elephants in 2nd position with 48 and GRA Rhinos coming 3rd with 59pts.

CHESS

The chess competition sponsored by the Olatokunbo Foundation started on 13th November and had its finals on the 14th November 2021. The comptition held at the Dairus place.

The Chess (Open) was a tough one with Festac Elephants represented by the duo of Okoida Akahome and Nzubechukwu Ananti bagging gold medal with 14 points on the ranking crosstable followed closely by the Mile 2 Hawks with 9 points and Festac Unicorn with 8 points.

For the U13 edition Farouq Nasir (Mile 2 Lion) – had 3 points emerging the new chess champion in Amuwo-odofin beating the 2019 title holder Umar Bello to the first position this year.

Emerging second place is the 2019 title holder, Umar Bello (Festac Elephants) – 2points and Victor Caleb (Festac bulls) – 1 point.

TENNIS

The Tennis tournament which is proudly sponsored by the Olatokunbo foundation held the finals of the which held at the Villa Park Hotel had Mile2 Lions represented by Ubah Martins Play against the Festac Unicorns represented by Chiagozie Ndulue with a win of 6:3 giving Mile2 Lions their First Gold medal.

VIDEOGAME

The videogame which held at the Izone games place , Festac Town had the Combat and Soccer match played. The videogame combat finals held amongst producing Festac Bulls 🐃. (1st place ), GRA Rhino (2nd place ) and Festac Elephant 🐘. (3rd place).

While the soccer game yielded GRA Rhinos emerged 1st place with 7 wins, while the Extension Dolphin 🐬 followed closely with 6 wins and Mile2 Lions in 3rd place with 2 wins.

At the end of week 2, Festac Elephants were leading the medal tables with 2 Gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.

This was followed closely by the GRA Rhinos with 2 Gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medals , coming 8th on the medal table was the Extension dolphins with 2 Silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
