Rehabilitation work has commenced on a section of 1st Avenue Road in Festac Town, Axis of Amuwo-Odofin LGA with the work beginning around the stretch linking 11 Road. The project is part of road rehabilitation works being undertaken by the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.
The road work was flagged off by the Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Hon. Prince Lanre Sanusi, as part of planned interventions on roads within the local government.
The project is being handled by Global Maak Services Limited and will be carried out in phases. The planned work on 1st Avenue includes road rehabilitation and extension, while solar-powered streetlights are also expected to be installed from the avenue towards Item 7 Junction.
The work is expected to affect movement along parts of 1st Avenue while construction is ongoing, particularly as different sections of the road are attended to.
For residents and motorists who regularly use the road, the key issue will be how quickly the work progresses and whether the three-month timeline displayed at the project site is met.
