Its a dark day in the history of Amuwo-Odofin as residents and the community at large woke up to the sad news of the demise of a monarch in the community.
According to information gathered, Oba of the Amuwo-Odofin known as the Alamuwo of Kuje Amuwo Kingdom, Oba Dr.Isaac Owolabi Olayemi JP has been confirmed to have joined his ancestors earlier today, 14th June 2023.
According to traditionally rites, there would be the ORO procession to mourn his demise as he joins his ancestors. The rites, which has commenced from earlier this morning and would span for the next three days.
It is advised residents should plan their movements properly and avoid late nights from 10:30pm and early mornings so as not to interfere with the traditional rites ongoing
Tributes have been seen thrown around both at the palace and on social media. He was fondly known as Baba Kuje Amuwo, Oba Olayemi JP.
He was not just a monarch but a royal father to many, a Philanthropist, He was the chairman of Arometa security company ltd. Oba Olayemi had served the Amuwo kingdom for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Olori Dorothy Olayemi, Children, Faith Olayemi, Abisoye Olayemi Prince Gbade and grandchildren
