The Director, Mr. Ferdinand Anikwe, CENTER FOR BLACK ARTS & AFRICAN CIVILIZATION paid a homely visit to Amuwo-Odofin Last week.
He visited the Newly elected LG Boss, The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Comrade Engr Valentine Buraimoh.
During the Visit the Director of Center for Black Arts and African Civilization, CBAAC, Mr. Ferdinand Anikwe and the President of Festival Town Residents Association, FTRA, Mr. Shola Fakorede discussed essnec of hosting Festac Anniversary Celebrations.
The Director of CBAAC said that the essence of the visit was to seek for the support of the Local Government towards the successful hosting of the Festac 77 at 40 event.
This according to him, would boost tourism and bring development to the good people of Festac Town and by extension Lagos State.
He further stated that, no less than 45 countries have indicated interest to participate in the forthcoming celebration.
” As we speak, China, Japan, United States of America and a host of other creme de la creme in the society have indicated interest to participate. I should also notify you, Sir, that the former President of the country, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo will also grace the occasion, ” he noted.
Responding, Comrade Buraimoh thanked them for the visit, noting that his administration will give CBAAC the necessary support towards a successful hosting.
” I am highly delighted that this historic event is happening in my time. Our administration will support you in toto he said.
” Amuwo Odofin is a mini-Nigeria; with various tribes. Our experience in this community shows that Nigeria can actually live as one.
” we will continue to support any developmental ideas brought forward. This is our social contract with the people.
