COVID19: Confirmed Cases in Amuwo-Odofin LGA Soars to 200+

There has been recorded a spike in the number of confirmed cases in Amuwo-Odofin nearing 300 cases.

The novel Coronavirus , COVID-19 pandemic ravaging cities and countries globally has remained undefeated with confirmed cases rising daily.

Confirmed cases in the Amuwo-Odofin LGA according to the Lagos state ministry of health is now 255 as at June 26th 2020.

This information was released during the situation report and press briefing on #COVID19Lagos by the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi.

Also present was the Permanent Secretary ,Olusegun Ogboye, Permanent Secretary, Lagos state primary health care board, Dr. Olugbemiga Aina & Dr. Muyiwa Eniayewun, Permanent Secretary Lagos state health service commission.

The 255 COVID19 confirmed cases in Amuwo-Odofin LGA are those who have been tested and confirmed.

Amongst the Local government in Lagos state, Eti-Osa LGA is still the LGA with the highest of 1515 COVID19 Confirmed cases in the state.

The number of increasing cases in Amuwo-Odofin is becoming alarming .

Recall that as at 19th April 2020 there were only 5 Confirmed cases in Amuwo-Odofin , then on 7th of May 2020, about 35 persons were confirmed to have the virus in the community.

42% of the confirmed cases in Nigeria have been in Lagos State, the State accounts for only 23.6% of the recorded deaths due to COVID-19 in Nigeria.

As at the time of this report, there are 24077 confirmed cases in Nigeria, 14894 active cases while 8625 has been discharged and 558 deaths recorded so far.

Lagos state with 10,026 Confirmed cases, with  8,370 active cases in the state, successful recoveries of 1,530 persons and 126 persons have died from the coronavirus pandemic.

The pandemic is still globally soaring with over 10 Million cases worldwide, 5 Million recovered and 499,000 deaths so far.
