On the 31st of January 2022, residents of the 5th avenue axis of Festac Town, Amuwo-Odofin LGA, Lagos State woke up to the stench and sight of a dead body dumped on the road.
The body was dumped between M & L Close of the estate, it was gory sight to behold as no-one could place who he was and how he got there.
Recall that Festaconline Media reported this on January 31st on our social handles to alert the community and t alert family members or loved ones.
Later that morning, officials got to the scene and the body was removed. Later that day information got to us that the young man was Chijoke Egwuatuonwu, a native of Uruagu Ebenasa Amichi.
Chijoke who was known to be a peaceful, hardworking, and jovial person served his boss who is resident in Festac for up to 12 years and was said to be a source of hope for his family. He was said to be eventually settled last December with a sum of 500,000 Naira.
Chijioke then got a shop at Ebute-Ero, Lagos island. But despite being settled he still lived with his boss and family at 4th Avenue, Festac Town, Amuwo-Odofin LGA, Lagos state.
According to source, festaconline gathered that Chijoke had informed his boss and family that he had gotten a house and would be moving out.
What His Boss Had to say
On Sunday, Chijoke’s dead body was found at the 5th avenue axis , Upon interrogation by the police operatives, The boss and family said chijoke had gone to put on the generator on Sunday night and never came back to the house.
Another source said has alleged that he was killed by his boss children and that they didn’t want to settle him and he left and went to the village last year as well as his boss. After he was settled with the 500k, they all came back to Lagos. It was even said that his boss children hated him.
The source acknowledged that Chijoke was to pack away from the house on sunday and the person that was to help him pack his properties called him , his phone rang twice and the it was switched off.
On Monday Morning, one of the children of the boss came to open his shop which raised suspicion and eve people at the market challeged them.Chijoke Neighbors at the shop went to reeport that Chijoke is missing and has not been able to be reached and that was when they were told that Chijoke was dead.
The case is still currently under investigation at the Are E Police Station, Festac Town and news reaching us states that some persons have been arrested. We are waiting on the outcome of the investigation.
