Festac Fire: Buraimoh, Idris, Idowu, Others Visits Scene

Following the outbreak of the Fire incident which happened in the early hours of 2am on Saturday, 21 March 2020, in Festac Town, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin, Valentine Buraimoh visited the scene.

Engr. Buraimoh in company of other Councillors of the LG and LG Executives were at the scene of the incident to ascertain the extent of the damage done.

We are very sorry, it saddens my heart, we are in a dry season, lets try as much as possible to reduce heat since the rains have not started. 

Lets do as much as possible to avoid lighting of candles, unnecessary lighting of fire around us due to the dry season. 

He assured the affected individuals who have now been displaced, stranded and homeless to make efforts to give temporary relocation to the IDP immediately.

He thanked the Councillor of the ward, Feyisope Idowu who put the call to him at around 3:30am to inform him of the incident.

Recall that the fire incidence occurred at 7th Avenue C1 close, Festac Town, Amuwo-Odofin LGA where several people in their hundred which include children live in make-shift houses.

Thankfully, no lives were lost during the outbreak.
