Festac School Secures 1st and 3rd Positions in Statewide Maths Competition

Pupils of Geneva Heights Montessori School have recorded an impressive performance in a Lagos-wide mathematics competition, securing multiple top positions in the Lower Primary category.

The pupils emerged among the best-performing participants at the Scholastic Champs Mathematics Competition, a contest that brought together pupils from different schools across Lagos State to test their mathematical abilities and problem-solving skills.

The examination was held on March 28, 2026, across three centres in Festac, Apapa, and Ikorodu, with pupils from Geneva Heights Montessori School writing their examination at Jday Spring College.

In the Lower Primary category, the school’s representatives delivered an outstanding performance, with participating pupils finishing in 1st, 3rd, and 14th positions respectively among contestants.

The achievement earned the school two podium finishes and placed Geneva Heights Montessori School among the standout performers in the competition.

The award ceremony was held on May 16, 2026, where the top 20 participants across various categories were recognised for their performance.

The competition featured multiple categories, including Lower Primary, Middle Primary, Upper Primary, Junior Secondary, and Senior Secondary levels.

In addition to recognising outstanding pupils, organisers also honoured teachers of the top three winners for their contributions to the pupils’ academic success.

School representatives described the achievement as a reflection of the dedication of the pupils, the commitment of their teachers, and the support of parents who continue to invest in quality education.

The accomplishment adds to a growing list of academic achievements by schools within Festac Town and highlights the role of healthy academic competitions in encouraging excellence among young learners.

For many residents, the success of the pupils serves as another positive story emerging from the Amuwo-Odofin community, demonstrating the academic potential and talent being nurtured within local schools.
