November 5th 2018 was a great day for residents , commuters in Festac Town as the popular Festac Link bridge which was shut down for 320 days has been reopened for use at about 5pm yesterday.
According to the LG Chairman, Valentine Buraimoh, the bridge was re-opened after the series of test by engineers was completed and bridge certified safe.
Festaconline speaking to a resident,
I’m so excited that the bridge is now opened, we have waited for so long but all that is past. I can now drive to and fro Festac Town without stress and fear of traffic- Joy Okonkwo
Recall that the bridge was shut down after the inferno that occurred claiming properties worth millions as the tanker laden with diesel fell and spilled its content on the bridge.
