Hoodlums in their large numbers came into Festac Town axis of Amuwo Odofin LGA from the first gate axis of the community.
They were able to gain access via the Diamond Estate Gate but were repelled again by security operatives.
They were all headed to the Festival mall which plays host to the popular shoprite store and other stores as well.
During this series of Gunshots were fired to repell the hoodlums away.
They destroyed the security posts at diamond estate , a car packed on the street was also vandalized and even the gate of the estate
They also damaged some buildings along the first Avenue axis of Festac Town before the bridge. Buildings affected were the FIRS building, ICAN learning center and others.
As at time of this writing, the extent of damage caused has not been certified.
According to source, some were caught and handed over to security operatives.
Note that this is the Second time in 24 Hours that the Festival mall has been under attack.
We are calling on security operatives to come to our aid in Festac town and its environs
