See The House of Rep Candidate That Will Give One Year Salary To Constituents

Ahead of the 2019 elections, Barr. Dorothy Chiegeonu Ilegbune, African Democratic Congress (ADC) House of Representatives candidate for Amuwo-Odofin federal constituency, has promised her full one year salary to her constituents, if elected on February 16 2019

During the Amuwo Decides 2019 community election debate organized by FestacOnline in conjunction with TNG for candidates vying for House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly, The ADC House of Representatives candidate made the promise.

Ilegbune, while stressing that no Kobo out of the constituency project fund would be mismanaged, said funds would be used judiciously for quarterly clearing of water hyacinth and federal drainage within the constituency.

She stated that she is going to engage her constituents on how best to utilize the funds, and promised to initiate several skills acquisition programs and open up water factories at different wards in her constituency in order to create jobs for her constituents, if she is elected to represent the people.

Ilegbune said she will influence the construction of new/alternative traffic routes, which she said will include linking 6th Avenue to Ejigbo, Oriade to riverine areas and connecting Flour Mill with Marina-CMS and UBA axis

She also promised to work to ensure improved education in the constituency through regular provision of educational materials for school children, while also promoting ventures in agriculture as a way of empowering the people of the constituency and creating a reliable alternative to white collar job.

Ilegbune said, through her pet project, she will sponsor GCE, WAEC and JAMB examinations for indigent students in the constituency, and also provide bore holes for areas without reliable water supply.

“We will hold quarterly meeting on what need the constituency project fund should be plunged into. We will have quarterly/annual empowerment programme for widows, widowers, orphans, and the youths.

“I have the passion and I can do it better than any other person. I have sworn by the Bible to work for Amuwo Odofin federal constituency and for massive empowerment to youths, men and women alike. All the eleven wards will have a registered business that will be yielding money on monthly basis operated as a cooperative.

“As a legal practitioner and as a woman, I assure Amuwo Odofin/Oriade constituents of effective, transparent and accountable representation. The House of Representatives is not a donkey parliament. Without mincing words, as a legal practitioner the difference will be made clear. Be rest assured that I am not going to be a bench warmer,” she stated.
