SOP Initiative to hold Virtual Carol Concert and Distribute Food Boxes in Amuwo Odofin

As we approach the yuletide season of this relatively dramatic year 2020, after witnessing the COVID-19 pandemic, the #EndSars protest, and other forms of social unrests, the SOP Initiative – a Christian youth group and NGO based in Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos State announced he plans to end the year on a good note.

Plans are on to feed 100 families in Lagos via the #FoodBox initiative. This initiative aims to see that these families have a good Christmas meal from the content that will be packed in the #FoodBox.

The approximate cost of each food box will be N5,000 and it will contain the following: a 2.5kg bag of rice, a 50cl bottle of vegetable oil, a full frozen chicken, 3 sachets of tomato pastes, and some cooking ingredients for the rice says Seun Ayeni, the president of the group.

He said the group plans to raise the N500,000 needed to achieve this initiative from donors around the world through the special project arm of the group – ConnectCharity, led by Kim Ojirigho this year.

Donations can be made via this link: bit.ly/sopfoodbox2020.

Kindly visit connectcharity.sopinitiative.org  for more information about the project.

Also, on the way is #AmuwoCarol2020, the annual charity carol concert that holds every Christmas eve in Amuwo-Odofin.

This year’s edition however will not be the usual outdoor format that gathers over 5,000 residents to sing carols and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, as the group has decided to take it online.

#AmuwoCarol2020 will be a virtual event in line with health and safety measures against the pandemic, but the elements that make it awesome will not be taken off.

The guest ministers will minister in songs and other acts, the carol hymns and prayers will all be done in a virtual but engaging format.

AmuwoCarol 2020 will stream live on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and on the official website – amuwocarol.sopinitiative.org.

These are things to look forward to as the year 2020 comes to an end, don’t you think so?
