Breaking News: See Why there is Unrest in Amuwo-Odofin⁣


In the early hours of 3am on 7th December 2021, while residents were sleeping serious gunshots woke some residents at the 7th Avenue axis of Festac Town. ⁣

Festaconline Media gathered that the security operatives , the Rapid response squad , RRS trooped into Festac Town to seize motorcycles popularly known as Okada.⁣ which led to Okada riders trying to fight back.

Recall that there was a major attack on Saturday when Police Task force raided and seized some bikes which lead to a serious fight that left up to 3 police vans burnt and part of the police station at the 7th Avenue axis of Festac town, Amuwo-Odofin was destroyed.

The RRS operatives came back this morning in a reprisal as a result of Saturdays incident and seized lots of motorcycles. ⁣

According to an okada rider, Festaconline Media gathered that up to 5 if not more trucks from the police came and packed loads of motorcycles around. ⁣

And that the ones that they couldn’t pack away were burnt here in the 22rd axis of the estate. ⁣

This led to a fight back by the riders causing serious mayhem in the community. Gunshots were fired in the air, teargas was seen fired in the 22rd Agboju axis to disperse them, Due to brawl, The Divisional police station axis was blocked. ⁣

Commuters, passersby and residents had to scamper for safety especially at the 22road axis. ⁣
The mayhem affected school students, those going to work and even traders. Some school sent their students back home ⁣

A commuter speaking to Festaconline lamented how she had to raise her handup with others to pass when she got to the 22road axis of 2nd avenue from alakija. ⁣
