In celebration of world humanitarian day, charity organisation in Amuwo-Odofin, SOPInitiaive led by Seun Ayeni, has decided to identify and celebrate women some Women Humanitarians in our community – Amuwo Odofin.
A survey and nomination was carried out and Festaconline would be sharing with the community 9 Wonder Women you should know who are making impact and touching lives here in Amuwo-Odofin.

Mrs Titilayo Olukoshi
Mrs Titilayo Olukoshi of Mile 2 (Jakande Estate) Amuwo Odofin as a Woman Humanitarian.
Here are what those who nominated her had to say about her:-
- She looks for children in her environment, most of who are now adults, counsels them as the teacher she is and as a mother. –
- She is an active volunteer in community services and engagements
- She also has been consistent with evangelism every Wednesday morning
Mrs Clementina Amedu
Mrs Clementina Amedu of Mile 2 (Jakande Estate) Amuwo Odofin is being celebrated as a Woman Humanitarian.
Despite the challenges she faced as a mother having to cater for seven children through school, she has still been able to touch other lives around her immensely.
Mrs Abosede Siwoku
Mrs Abosede Siwoku of Mile 2 (Jakande Estate) Amuwo Odofin is truly a Woman Humanitarian.

- She used her small ‘beetle’ car as a ‘school bus’ to transport a lot of children at different hours of the morning to and from their school for a very long time.

She champions community causes, negotiating and sorting out issues with different government parastatals and service providers on behalf of her neighbours when needed
Mrs Mary Olumide (a.k.a. Iya Onituwo)
Mrs Mary Olumide (a.k.a. Iya Onituwo) of Mile 2 (Jakande Estate) Amuwo Odofin was also nominated as Woman Humanitarian.

- She’s has fed people in the community for over 25 years through her food (Tuwo) business.

Mrs Onyiyechi Kalu (a.k.a. Mummy Nurse)
Mrs Onyiyechi Kalu (a.k.a. Mummy Nurse) of Festac Extension, Amuwo Odofin nominated as a Woman Humanitarian.
Here are what those who nominated her had to say about her:- She is a nurse that treats a lots of families in the estate. She does this selflessly with little cost.
- She has been given many emergency calls, even at late hours to help give healthcare services for families in the community, and though she is getting old, she still does this and many families still rely on her services.

She holds fellowship for children in the neighbourhood, teaches them good morals and prays for them.
Alhaja Olaiya (a.k.a. Belgium)
Alhaja Olaiya (a.k.a. Belgium) of Mile 2 Estate, Amuwo Odofin nominated as a Woman Humanitarian.
Here is one of the stories about her that we can not forget.
A neighbours family once lost their parent and were at their lowest moments.
Alhaja made sure that this family of 8 was given 3-square meals everyday for over 6 months.
She has gone ahead to replicate this gesture to many families over the years and has done this via her thriving food business.
Moreover, she has been one of our favourite and most popular food vendors in the Amuwo Odofin community.
Miss Christiana Ogbeide (a.k.a VJ Priceless)
Miss Christiana Ogbeide (a.k.a VJ Priceless) of Festac town, Amuwo Odofin nominated as a Woman Humanitarian.
Here are what those who nominated her had to say about her:
- She organised the first ever pageantry event recently with the aim to promote the awareness of Fibroid in women.

She directs and produces short films and documentaries, getting most of her casts from her community in order to empower them

Mrs Kuburat Folorunsho Sanni
Mrs Kuburat Folorunsho Sanni was also nominated as a woman humanitarian.

She has been empowering women in the Festac community in the fashion design line, giving vocational training’s tirelessly at no cost to those who come around and those she is able to reach out to.
Miss Abiola Ajewole
Abiola Ajewole of Festac Extension, Amuwo Odofin is being celebrated as one of the Woman Humanitarians in our community.
Here are what those who nominated her had to say about her:
She runs an organisation called Hope for The Hungered Foundation aka The Hunger Project, an organisation that has fed over 1,000 street children over the years. She has volunteered with several NGOs over the years to supply free healthcare services to communities. She started a program called The Weekend Backpack Food Program.
The program provides non-perishable, easy-to-prepare food to children to ensure they get enough food on weekends – Via her NGO, she takes care of some widows, school fees and medical bills of the poor and needy children.
